Benchmade 551 Grippy

It is so perfect, I don't think I've ever done a better job. I closed up most of the pins rattle, theres just a tiny bit, not bad. The blade is like butter and has a smidge of play, but thats only if i really rock hard on the end of the blade. I wouldn't even call it play, i think it's just the fact that it has leverage. It's actually better than when I bought it. I can't flick the blade out semi forcefully without touching the lock or blade, which i wanted because it'll be harder for it to open up in my pocket, and I don't open any knife like that either unless it's my opinel and the handle is swollen.

..It's not a defect - and may actually be beneficial, by spreading any wear over the whole circumference of the pin.

You can see the stop pin in my strip and reassembly tutorial here:

If you do find the rattle unbearable, a tiny smear of loctite will stop the pin from sliding back and forth between the liners.

Excellent Steven, the epitome of how-to tutorials! Thanks.

Absolutley, the stop pin is designed to rotate.

Congrats Suzuki, and thanks for the post.
