Benchmade 551Griptilian // Edge Bevel too wide or OK?

Hi,

wanted to ask about your opinion if you would send that new BM back or if you consider the edge bevel OK?

I find the bevels a little wide. The wider bevel on the show side might be about 18dps and the other might be around 19-20dps. For that measurements the bevels are a little wide imo.

Thickness bte is around 0,64-0,67mm. At the tip area tickness bte is around 0,8-0,9mm.

I mean thats about right for a benchmade. I just always put a new edge on my benchmades

I can't see the pictures. But in recent years BM has decided to emulate Spyderco's thick edge bevel, so this comes as no surprise. Too bad, that is one area where BM was superior to Spyderco, but no longer.

Put it to the stone and take it down or Convex it.

I put a convex edge on mine.

I sent it back and got a very well executed one with smaller, even edge bevels
