+1 Well put.
The whole color sceme is a little dark for my tastes.
But S90V, thats super cool and Gold accents? The DLC should be awesome.
I know it certainly is outstanding on the M4 Gold Class mini-grip with the blue twill insert.

I didn't think anyone could make the excellent 940-1 look like a bargain at ~$270.

I guess I was wrong... :o

No kidding they should have just done carbon fiber scales and the s90v and kept it at the low end of 200.00

I think I need a DLC coated reversible split arrow clip.I should call BM and see if I can request one and find out how much it would cost.I wonder what the MAP price will be for this one?Nice knife!

Gee, I don't know. For that kind of money, I could buy this instead:

Well everyone has been saying they really would like to see a mini-grip in titanium/carbon/s90v/m390. Here it is, let's see how bad they want it. I doubt $800 worth. Bench made is stretching a bit here lately. $300ish maybe. Approaching $1K, don't think so!

I was all over this one until the gold accents...I guess I will just have to keep waiting for that perfect knife

I remember your very nice 556-141 with M4 from a couple of months ago and managed to get one recently at a really good price below MAP! MSRP was $650.00 and MAP was $552.50.

Yep... As much as I like BM, and even though the Mini Grip is my favorite folder, they are smokin crack on this one. Of course YMMV...

The WH is a nice piece

Me too. I think for just over $500 that I got my 556-141 it's worth it to me with a DLC coated crowned CPM-M4 (62-64 HRC) blade, anodized titanium handles with blue twill G10 inlays and blue anodized titanium barrel spacers and thumb lugs. You can take a 556 add premium steel, add WilkinsGRIP BMG mini Titanium Gripsets ($225) and then the rest of the accents, finishes, inlays, etc. and it adds up.

Personally, the 556-142 just doesn't add up in any shape or form at its price level.

If it were labeled a Gold Class, it would have a price to match that it if history is any indication.

No Gold Class just a regular 556-1 with CF & S90V for MAP of $250.

$800 for that...? Whoever invented that MSRP must have done so while on a trip to Colorado...

I like it a lot but the price is ridonkulous...

Benchmade needs to change all their black coated blades to DLC and drop the crappy BK2 coating!!!!!! They apparently have the means to do it...Spyderco and KAI have been offering it on most of their US made knives for a long time and at reasonable prices.
