Hi everyone, So I been looking and looking over knives for EDC, ( I'm not to knowledgeable ) and I like the Mini Griptillian, it's at a good price point. I'm close to purchasing it but would like to see some others that are in the same size and price range. Have I made a good pick or could there be others out there. Thanks Jim

The mini-grip is a great knife at that price point and size range. Spyderco has a few good options as well, delica, sage and chaparral are a few in the $100 +/- $20 range (I consider that the "high-end value" price range). There's a cheaper version of the chaparral being released soon also that some are pretty excited about. I'm personally looking forward to the delica wharncliffe release since I tend to like flat bevel blades for my EDC tasks. Kershaw skyline is another that's commonly mentioned as is the leek (new leek cf is pretty sexy). SOG mini aegis is another one that some like, I personally didn't like the locking mechanism but it was a fantastic carrying knife.

I have a blue 555 mini-grip with sheepsfoot blade on order at my local store that I'm quite excited about and it will become my primary EDC and my sage 2 will be for the days I wear slacks or more snazzy clothes at work or events. The mini-grip really is a nice knife and the track record of the durability of the knife is pretty good.

I used to think the Mini Griptillian was the way to go. After all, the full size Grip is a huge pocket hog, right? Then I bought a used full size for next to nothing and have found that it really is the way to go. It fills your hand better and gives you a larger blade to work with.

If you really feel that the mini is right for you, at least get the Ritter Mini-Grip while you still can.

I have 2 mini griptilian knives and 2 spyderco delica 4's and the delica is a better fit in my hand . I am going to sell the mini grips as soon as my membership comes through later this week. Don't get me wrong, the mini griptillian is and has been a great knife for years, I just like the delica for how it feels to me. The 904 mini axis stryker is about the same size, but with g'10 handles. I have one of those also.
Happy hunting

I would agree with this. I know in my case I'm restricted to a 3" blade. Not sure if that's the OP's situation but that is the primary reason I think some go with the mini.
