Benchmade 581 My first AO from BM arrived today. Goofy question though.

Don't laugh. This is my first A/O from Benchmade. Love the feel of this knife, but no kidding.... I don't know how to take the safety off. I have never seen a knife with a safety but I guess that is what it is. I keep trying to move the plastic tab on the back of the knife but it won't budge. What am I doing wrong???

Push down and pull back

If the knife wont open with the safety back the spring to open the blade has broken and it has to go back to Benchmade

I had one do the same thing opened it a few times let my brother see it and he couldn't open
