Hahaha, blade hits the plastic on the inside of the backspacer of my D2 version (bought at the same time as 710-1 which doesn’t suffer from this), from the tip and it goes down the blade for at least 3cm. There is a nice line which is visible when you shine a flashlight. It also shows that the blade is not centered when the knife is closed.
Let me know what BM says about stainless barrel spacers and if you could upload the pix when done it would be great.
 
after hearing remarks about blade hitting the backspring i checked my 710 m390 & no problem also locks up tight & blade centered. i have already been cuttin on 3/8 sisal ropebut want to run a test between the 390 & endura zdp but have to get my edge pro in so i can get identical bevel angles to allow a fair contest.ankerson gave me the exact acessories for apex but last week we caught 11 in. rain & my days are too long to call edge pro . want to do a fair test on the b.m. & endura.

I talked to Benchmade today. Great guy (stupidly, I forgot his name), talked for some time about blade steel, knife models, etc. He said to definitely send in the knife if the blade hits the back spacer and request in the work order to change out the barrel spacers. He said that it is a reasonable request, but depends on what type of mood the shop is in on whether they do it or not. Also, they wouldn't send me the spacers, as I would have to take apart the knife to install them. I hope they're in the mood.:confused:
 
personally i don't think that u will have a prob with benchmade.. i had a problem with a blade on my 610 rukus .. sent it in and they gave me a new one and a bottle of blue lube for the trouble
