BOTH ARE SOLD. Thanks Bladeforums!
For sale are my Benchmade 710 and Griptilian. Not intererested in trades. If my listed prices are not working for people, please feel free to make offers. First "I'll take it" gets it with reasonably prompt payment. Shipping will be done immediately if sold by 12pm EST, if not, they will probably go out tuesday or possibly wednesday - CONUS priority with tracking.
First up is the 710:
I bought this brand new in November (found probably the last dealer in New England who had one), but I just don't ever use it. I had a 710-1401 from Knifeworks but I sold it for the same reason I want to get rid of this one: I just don't like sharpening the recurve. Unlike my 1401, this knife has never been sharpened and still has the factory edge. I've used it to open some packages and cut some wrapping paper. It has a couple small superficial scratches that you can't see unless you're reflecting some light. It also has a light factory grind line down the middle of the show side of the blade. Like the scratches, you can really only see this if you're reflecting light at just the right angle (managed to snap a picture of it). Centering is absolutely flawless and the blade drops closed. It has *by far* the smoothest action of any Benchmade I've ever used - a perfect example of this classic. I really hate to get rid of it, as its a part of Benchmade history (being the first knife with the Axis Lock), but I just have no legitimate reason for a knife I don't use.
$150 shipped. G&S or F&F is up to you whether you want buyer protection, up to you. Comes with original box and micro cloth.
Next up is a totally beat up and abused Benchmade Griptilian.
This was used by my buddy in Nepal as a work knife for several years. The blade has been sharpened so much that it has probably lost a half an inch. I figured that out when I tried to sharpen it to 15 DPS and the shoulder was too thick to even make that happen. Also, my friend destroyed the scales by opening tons of beers with them. This knife is done for.
This knife is not for someone to use, its meant to be shipped back to Benchmade for a blade replacement for $30. I called and asked about it and they never mentioned having a receipt or anything. Would be ideal for someone who has a pair of aftermarket scales who wants a brand new blade.
$30 would be a fair price shipped, if not, make an offer. I'd like to do F&F on this one since it's being sold for pretty much nothing. Comes with no box.
