Benchmade 710 m390 here for good?

I'm a little upset as a 710 LE owner, My resale value just went for a little over what I paid for it, to at least $50 below what I paid for it (about a $75 drop), If I had known this was going to happen I would have just waited for this version and saved $50. As I don't think "49 of 250" inscribed on my blade is worth $50, I've spent well over $1000 at Knifeworks, I may have to rethink where I will be making my future purchases.

I'm just gonna shake my head at a couple of you guys.

As for this I'm pumped. Always wanted a 710. No excuses now... gonna have to wait till after a few other purchases though.

The KW LEs had rounded spines. I don't know whether this one will or not. Otherwise, it's the same, as far as that description goes.

KW describes the new M390 BM710 as "Plain edge/satin finish coating, highly compressed epoxy and woven glass composite handle." Is this the same as the production and sprint run G-10 handles?

I didn't buy mine to resell, so I'm not butthurt about that. I'm hella stoked that I'll be able to buy a second one now, without the crappy writing on the blade, for less than I paid for my first one. also nthing the desire for a full-sized grip in m390.

How do you feel knowing you overpaid/wasted $40 on the first one?

Models of everything go down over time--cars, computers, knives, everything. If you don't want to lose money like that, just keep waiting for tomorrow to buy what you want :)

Except LE's because they're limited edition, when's the last time you saw S90V Manix 2 or Military below the original retail price?
(If you do buy it for me and i'll give you a $20 finders fee ;))

I'm fine with it. it's been more than worth what I paid for it. if you want to look at it as a waste of money, that's your prerogative. the fact that you're willing to live in provo suggests poor cognitive function anyway.:p

:P only til December then I'm out of here! Back to Oregon.

I may end up having mine re-scaled & sending the blade off to be brought up to 62. How's that for wrecking resale? I almost always end up missing the sprint runs & find myself paying a premium on these things. I'm on a roll as of late & nailed me a TSEK & the upcoming AFCK. I was still kicking myself for missing the 710 sprint when I saw this yesterday.

That would be awesome. I'd like to see the reactions of the flippers and the people who paid their asking prices.

And of course I'd grab one for myself at a non-ridiculous price.

As for declining price, it depends on the LE in question. If it had some blade steel and handles everyone thought was cool, then sure it might appreciate. If it was an LE that nobody cared about, it might not appreciate at all.

I think it was either $180 or $190 if I remember correctly.

Really? The dlc-coated version (which by the way seems now to be out of stock) was 192$ and MSRP was 260$. Uncoated retailed for 230$. Were they really that close? BTW I remember that the 710-2 was first 140$ (200$ MSRP) It's now 150$. Did they raise the price or am I mistaken?
