Benchmade 710 or Benchmade 940 or Paramilitary 2?

I have a 943 and although its light, imho its not a work knife. I prefer my Sage 1 over it and im focused on getting a PM2

The 710 is my all time favorite knife to carry. It is everything I ever wanted in a modern one hand type folder. The knife that replaces it will have to be very impressive indeed.

i have a 710 and a paramilitary 2. i like the 710 better, but they are both very nice. i am proud to have both of them.

The 940 is really in a different category. The 710 and P2 are all-around medium/heavy duty knives. The 940 is really more in the light use category, almost a "gentleman's knife." It does pack an unusually long blade into its handles, but I think you'll be happier for your purposes with either of the other two. I have a large pile of different versions of both the 710 and Para1/2 and honestly would be totally happy with either, though my first pick 8 days out of 10 would probably be the Para2.

Hi,
I'm torn between these three knives and need some guidance as to which to get first. Im fairly new and like to buy knives to collect, and use. I have Med-Lg hands and normally carry 2 knives, Front right: Small/people friendly (i.e. Mini sebenza, case trapper); Back right: Larger knife for heavier duty tasks (i.e., SOG trident). And one of these 3 knives will be going in my back pocket EDC rotation. Any feedback is appreciated. :D

I like the Titanium 943's, but I wish they offered it with an M390 blade.

I recently picked up a 940 - and its a sweet little knife. The look threw me at first, but its growing on me. I took off the pocket clip and its been in my pocket most every day at work - I basically have to wear a suit, so I'm not rocking a ZT 0300 at work!

Anyway, the 940 I would put more in the light duty category. Comparing it to my ZTs (300, 560, 350), I would not trust the 940 to go through some of the abuse i put my ZTs through. Plus the agressive grip just isnt there. So if you are really trying to get into something, there is a chance your hands could slip forward. The 940 is great for opening letters, packages, etc. But I wouldnt consider it a med/heavy duty knife.

I have knives in S60, S90, S110, ZDP-189, Sellite 6-K, Talonite, and Cera-Titan. They all seem to hold an edge better than S30. The handles on the 943 come in Carbon fiber (72gm), Aluminum (82gm), and Titanium (92gm).
