WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE BENCHMADE 710 FOR EVERYDAY UES? IS IT A SOLID FOLDER THAT WILL WITHSTAND ABUSE? IS THE BLADE A GOOD CHOICE FOR GAME CLEANER AS WILL AS EVERYDAY CHORES?

It's an excellent knife for a wide variety of chores. The 4" blade is nice for that extra reach when skinning a larger animal. The tip is very pointy, making it useful for detail work. The recurve is awesome for making powerful cuts. Axis lock is solid and reliable. The only complaint I can come up with is the handle could offer a bit more grip.

Great knife in M2!

You were inquiring about the Al Mar SERE 2000 earlier. Those are my two favorite folders.

browing@mc - no offence but when u are typing please do not type Capital letter - it is shouting.

710 - love the knife - with the recurve blade cuts very well and the axis lock easy to open and close.

The 710 is a great knife expecially in M2.

If the blade was a little wider, a bit thicker, and the grips a litle bit "grippier" with some better thumb access, it would be the only folder I would ever need.

You can't go wrong with a 710. See many other threads, especially the one that compares a 710 to a Sebenza.

I love my BM 804 in M2 which is a similar blade shape (no recurve) to the 710. Holds an edge like I've never seen, and cuts like crazy. Buy it.

The 710 is a great overall knife--good for everything from camp/trail/hunting purposes, to kitchen work and even tactical uses. You can get it in M2 if you want (with the black BT2 coating:( ) or the regular 154CM. The only change I would consider would be contoured scales, which can be done by some custom makers.

I certainly own a 710, but it stays in the box. I just don't find it a comfortable to carry as other knives I own. My Massad Ayoob, for example, is MUCH more comfortable to me. Of course, if I were going to use a knife for all-around chores, and I were allowed to carry it where I lived, then I'd just get a 110. Walmart or PCKS, either way you get a great knife that's a proven winner. Add a SAK or Slipjoint to the mix, and you've got a winning team. To each his own though. I may not use my 710, but I can't argue with the quality of the knife. Good materials and such, but just not for me as a full time knife. Actually, I got it to try out the M2, which was fun but not enough for me to carry the knife all the time. As other say, though, YMMV.

Sincerely,
Anthony

Ok, I don't actually have a 710 or any experience with hunting...but wouldn't cleaning game with an Axis Lock knife be a little messy? ( Messy as in the blood and guts going into the knife handle?)

I had a 710 in M2 tool steel and was unimpressed overall. My specimen wasn't worth anywhere near the asking price, IMO. Maybe I had a lemon, I don't know. I never plan on purchasing another BM product so I doubt I'll find out. Cheers.
