Mixed reviews have been posted about the stryker, and the 710 might be a little big. Both can be found for below $120 shipped at knifeworks.com. Both also use G10 handle scales. What are your guys opinions about either of the two?

I own both. If I were forced to choose I would carry the 710. It's a classic. The Nitrous Stryker is a much lighter knife but it is also AO (Mine is anyway).

Comparing both with D2:

I prefer the blade profile on my Stryker
I prefer the Axis lock on the 710
I prefer the weight of the Stryker
I prefer the manual mechanism of the 710
They both have somewhat slick G10, something I have often found with BM's.
The Stryker can be difficult to deploy the AO unless you practice and hit the sweet spot on the thumbstud
The Stryker may be more difficult to find in the near future

My choice is the 710 regardless of the pros and cons. I just prefer that knife much more.

710 wins in aesthetics, blade shape and lock in my opinion.

Also, I greatly dislike a/o knives. If the knife is being opened by a spring, I dont want my fingers anywhere near the blade.

I have both also, and can't add anything...I thought I wrote this posting!! :D So +1 on the 710!!

I would like a mini non assisted opening stryker with spear point & axis lock... or to really make me happy a sprint run of the ares!

Some of Snoody designed H&K knives from Benchmade? :)

P.S. I own the 710 D2 and 910HS. 910 is a little more comfortoble for me.

I have them both a few times over and carry the Stryker most of any knife I own. But their are reasons that don't fit into a general catagory. This list is right on and I agree with it. Personal preference is imposible to help others with.

Did that make sense?
I love them both. :)

I kind of chuckle at the 913. I dont know about you guys but to me it seems like benchmade got their hands on a sebenza and applied a little "benchmade tactical stylinz" to it (add g10 scales, swedge, smore spear pointed, a/o). Or maybe Im just crazy (probably that).

I dont know, but I personally see it.

Not that thats a bad thing. I have a 913d2 sitting in my desk, solid knife.

That being said, I dislike a/o (stryker included) so I give the nudge to the 710, which also has the axis lock which I prefer to liner/frame lock.

Ya know, every time I pull my 913D2 out of my pocket with the Nitrous AO system and G-10 scales I wonder if it’s a Benchmade or a Sebenza. :D

Just kidding ya.
Your opinion is as valid as anyone’s. I personally don’t see it. They look alike on your photos but that's where the similarities end. IMO

BM 913 actually comes from Allen Elishewitz design, not Chris Reeve's Sebenza. Athough they are simmilar in size, they have different blade shape/ground, different locking system and materials used. I like them both and often rotate them as EDC.

I am not suggesting anything further than that!
OK I got ya :)
I meant no harm as did you.
Can you imagine fighting over a knife?

Now here's one for ya.
Which one do you prefere?? Don't answer.
That would hijack this gentlemens thread. Plus I know the answer. :)
Good Day Friend!!

If I could buy a windmill graphic on a 913 I might change my mind lol.

I know, Im just saying that I think they look similar.

Allen Elishewitz design, yes I forgot about that. It’s interesting because his name no longer appears on the blade. If I’m correct it has not been on the blade for many years. Thanks for the reminder.:)

Allen and Benchmade parted ways a while back that's why his name is no longer on some of the knives.

And the only similarity that the 913 and the Sebenza have is that they are both knives and some what the same size, it pretty much ends after that.
