Benchmade 761 TITANIUM FRAMELOCK

There might be some custom options, check out this link (posts #22-28):

Something like this possibly:

IT WORKS!!

I took the clip of my PM2 and it works!! The Sebenza4 clip fits also!! The PM2 is a camo one so the clip is stainless and it looks good! The screw hole in the top of the clip sticks out a bit (3 screws in the clip) but it is very pocket friendly and holds firmly. Had to put it back on the PM2 though, that one is a good knife. Spyderco doesn't sell replacement parts so that is out anyway! I think the deep carry titanium clips would indeed be perfect if you wanted to match color. I like the stainless myself and would like to find one somewhere.

I have seen several deep carry titanium clips on e$ay for $25-$30 (that includes the shipping charges). There are some that have 2 screws like the one in the picture P_Meticulous posted. The 3 screw ones won't work near as well I think but blade4sell as mentioned in the link has a good selection and I think better pricing.

Might not sell the 761 to my friend after all!

Glad to hear it! It’s nice to have some options if you want to change things up a bit. At least now you can search the extensive clip aftermarket and know that any PMII or Sebenza4 clip sizes will fit :)

Took a few more shots of my 761

Hi all,

Can someone post picture of the lock side without the clip?

I the clip mount on a recess or just sits plainly on the slab?

I am thinking of getting one but the clip is the one thing that is holding me back. Where clips are concern, I could do away with one since there is a provision to put a fob on the folder. Nice blade profile on this 761.

Thanks in advance.

There is no recess, just two screw holes on the flat portion of the Ti. Here’s a link to some pictures without the clip:

Seems BM was listening and added tip up/down to it's new little brother. It's unlikely but it's too bad they don't update the 761 to have the same. You'd think it would be very simple to do to new runs of the 761 handles. That big blocky clip looks nice, but on the pivot end isn't every comfy in the hand.

Went to the store today to handle and possibly purchase this model. Was concerned about the clip more than anything. They didn't have this model and stock and said they weren't scheduled to stock it in the near future but there were some in the warehouse so I ordered it online and it will ship to the store free of charge. Probably be a week or so before it shows up but I think I made the right call. Now the wait begins.

Picked up mine yesterday and could not be happier. Fit and finish are perfect as is the blade centering, lockup, sharpness, etc. Very smooth opening. The only fault I can find is that the pocket clip, as I expected will not fit over the pocket hem on my blue jeans. I doubt I will attempt any mods as I can pocket carry just fine. A really nice blade.

Congrats on the acquisition! ;) It’s a great knife

In regard to the clip.. I noticed the same thing during the first few weeks of carry with jeans (761’s clip catching the hem and getting stuck upon removal from my pocket, requiring more pull).. Fortunately, I’ve noticed that the Ti clip will lose some of it’s rigidity over time, meaning, it won’t catch the more you break it in.. At this point, mine doesn’t even catch anymore and it’s a non-issue.

Congrats on the blade! Wonderfully smooth and remarkably well made! Glad I hung on to mine. I'm still looking for a clip for it though.

I don't want to fork over another twenty or so bucks for a Ti clip so I have been hunting. I found a website that many here may already know but I just stumbled upon, usaknifemaker with the com after it. They have several clips that might work and a couple that i think would. You can also get a Ti blank and form your own. Cost with shipping is less than 12.

I've got a couple ideas but want to see if they will work before I buy a clip. Crazy to spend a couple hundred bucks on a knife and agonize over a few bucks for a clip but if I was totally sane I most likely wouldn't have as many knives and flashlights as I do....

Just couldn't resist. Sorry for the cruddy photos. Today is day two in my EDC rotation. Ended up al it need to get over the hem of my blue jeans pocket was a firm push. So far it's been getting easier and easier to remove and replace. Really loving this blade.

The blade reminds me a lot of my 615 Rukus in both shape and size. Since that one is also a favorite EDC of mine having a similar blade in Ti is really nice.

Just got mine last night and to say I'm thrilled is an understatement! The F&F on this thing is literally perfect! Perfectly centered....perfectly.....smooth as buttered glass and flies open with minimal thumb force! No stick at all and locks up with no movement at all! Love the thumb stud and stand offs....nice touch! The blade is gorgeous and the sharpest most even edge I've seen on a prod folder.....screaming sharp!
The thing that surprised me most was the weight.....its light as a feather!
Really don't mind the clip as it is fine with jeans.....not too tight at all.
