Hello, everyone,
I recently purchased a BM 810 contego. I really want to love this knife. However, there is significant lateral blade play ( about 1-2mm) that I can feel and see. I've tried adjusting the screw, polishing the washers, liners, and blade tang. As far as I can feel and see it's made no difference. If I tighten the screw to eliminate play, the blade will not even move down when held horizontally and the axis lock is disengaged. I've dealt with minute blade play from Benchmade which I've always been able to fix. I find it rather disappointing to spend 185 American dollars on a knife from Benchmade and receive such poor QC from a company like Benchmade. My initial impression was a flatness issue. But I feel like I'd be able to see such an imperfection. Anyways, any thoughts on what could be causing this?
