I bought it brand new and haven't done anything to it other than flipping it open for a dozen times or so. So, this knife is maybe not "brand new" but certainly "new." The detent is very strong. Feels even stronger than my ZTs. However, the flipping action is not stellar. The ball bearing pivot feels a little gritty, and it hasn't broken it during the dozen times I flipped it open. Maybe it will, I don't know. But there are some upsides: factory edge is stellar by Benchmade standard, better than my recent ZTs (better than the latest 0392 I bought, in fact); fit and finish is pretty good; and the color looks better in person, in my opinion. There are no marks, no nicks, no scratch on the blade or handle, other than one small nick on the backside of the pivot screw (I tried to catch that on picture #4) and what looks like a nail mark on the lock bar. These came from the factory, as far as I can tell.
