Big news guys(at least for me), i just received a news letter from one of the knife retailed i subscribed to, and they are starting to take pre-order for Benchmade 940-2 for $170.

It's the new black g-10 version with green anodized standoff that Benchmade has been teasing on their instagram for the past few months. It's still the same s30v steel, just with different handle.

Now, i wonder if i should get this or the 940-1501 with CPM20CV steel for about $30 more....

Look at the last knife on this picture Benchmade teased, you can faintly see a green standoff:

I heard about this knife the other day but wish they chose a different steel!!!! But should be cool. I doubt it will replace my standard 940 but you never know.

Yeah i wished they used the 20CV steel like they did on the griptilian, not just handle update.

Regardless of handle material, As long as it's S30v I can't get excited.

20CV, 3V, or even M4 like the Gold Class would be great.
If I could have everything I wanted, I would take a Ti Frame lock 940 in 3V, actually, I would take 2 or 3!

Personally, the 940-2 is actually a good move by Benchmade. Same S30V as 940 but G-10 instead of aluminum and green barrel spacers instead of the backspacer for a slightly lighter model at $12.75 less.

My regular 940 has never really clicked with me. I think Im gonna sell that and grab one of these ones

Have not owned a 940 since the Oct. 2000 Knife of the Month with blue aluminum handles that I sold off 10 or so years ago. Might have to pick up one of these for using.
