Benchmade 940 Osborne blade

Is there anywhere to get a replacement blade for a Benchmade 940 without having to send it to Benchmade?

I’ve got a good friend who broke his blade and I’ve tried to get him to send it in for a long time and he just never gets around to it. I’d like to just buy him a blade and surprise him with it. Used, new, grade doesn’t matter, just need a blade for it.

If other than factory is okay, a number of folks make them. GershBlades here on BF is one.

Because of that, they also sometimes come up for sale, but it's not an everyday occurrence. You could try a wtb post here.

Quickest cheap way is probably wait for a used 940 to come up on the exchange (and/or a wtb post for it)

Just be careful because the 940 is one of the MOST counterfeited knives so if you see a deal too good to be true it probably is. I think what kreole said is a good idea in trying to find a used one on the forums. Get it from a reputable place/person.

I would be happy to make you a custom 940 blade, but if you want a relatively cheap OEM replacement I do have a used 940 blade for $5O shipped. The grind lines look a little rough but I believe it is authentic, and yes it has been sharpened by the previous owner and I just got it for the handle.

Blade replacement cost is around 30% of MSRP, changed a few years back, and that is their listed price, not the reduced price most retailers list them at.

Sorry I didn’t respond to this quicker guys, been busy and kind of forgot about it! Thank you all for the responses, if gersh still has his used blade for sale I will go that route. If not I’ll post a wtb ad!

Not a knife guy like I am but more of a knife guy than most. I’m hard on mine but they only get used as a knife! He uses his as whatever tool he might need at the moment!

Maybe I shouldn't grind my new ones half as thick any more.
When I pry stuff I stupidly reach for one of these .
