Hey, you might want to remember that old story of Peter and The Wolf, after want you said in the production sparrow threadMy blade is in the mail. Says it should arrive monday. Gonna be epic!
940's are always easy installations. Easiest of any BM or Spydie model to swap blades... I probably have between 8-12 and never had any issue (unless the donor 940 isn't a barrel spacer model)^^^
I'll get pics. Now hopefully it isn't too difficult to put in.
Thanks. I've never taken one apart but if I can take a 1911 completely apart (52 pieces) and put back it should be fine.940's are always easy installations. yep you'll be good! I should make a quick video on the way I do it anyway, so at least ppl can see what I do. I just remove the pivot and washers, then put the pivot in part way, slide a washer over it, then the blade, and the final washer and screw it together. pretty simple as others have said! Thanks. Beautiful set you have there.Got mine in a couple days ago, but been busy working night shifts. Day off today, and got the blade installed. Looks good and super sharp!
Pulled it all the way apart to do the polishing ritual my OCD wouldn’t let me avoid (I told myself I wasn’t going to haha). These washers on this 940 are smoothest I’ve seen vs the other Benchmade I’ve pulled apart, so they just got a quick polish on the green compound strop, then the white, to a mirror finish. Then hit both sides of the frames, since I have some pretty good lock stick on this 940.
Oiled it up and slowly working the lock stick out now.
I’d really still like the Wharnie blade, as that’s my favorite looking one. For now I’ll settle for these 2 bad boys.
Thank you JoshREK Knives !
