Benchmade 940 vs. Kershaw Blur

Thanks for all the advice guys. I went to the gun show today and oddly enough I didn't see a single Benchmade anywhere. It was a fairly large show with quite a few knife vendors, but not a Benchmade to be found. Several vendors did have a Blur, but not the one with the S30V steel. I handled it and liked it a lot, so I came home and ordered the one with the S30V blade from an on-line vendor.

I have never owned a benchmade but I have scrutinzed them at the stores and no doubt they are nice. If you have that kind of cash laying around by all means lay it down. But for me and my persoanal requirements the Kershaw products are ahead of the Benchmade becuase they provide me with a high quality product at a reasonable price.

I would venture to say that the reason for that is that most people at a gun show wouldn't pay the price for a S30v Blur, much less a Benchmade. They wouldn't know what they were buying or understand why it was so much more than the Smith and Wesson knife the other guy is selling. Honestly the more I talk to people the more I realize what an odd breed we are. ;)

BTW, I think you'll really enjoy your Blur, mine's been a great knife.
