  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Benchmade 940

The 940 was my grail knife since I got into knives. I finally got it, and it lived up to my own hype. Great knife.

Worth the current high price tag? The new cf version is beautiful but it will be hovering around $250 I think :barf:

So this one is on my radar as well, but I think I might prefer the blade-shape of the 943. Does anyone own one or the other (or both) that can speak to the differences/preferences between the two?

I have both, both are awesome EDC folders, have to be carried and used to truly appreciate how good they really are.
The 943 blade is a bit lighter and noticeably easier to flick open and shut with an almost imperceptible wrist action.
If I could only have one of them it would be the 943. But I actually can have both, and am glad for that.

I stopped buying BM after the price hike. Still feel grumpy about that.
However the new 940-1 may prove just too tempting. And if they follow up with a 943-1, I would have to get one.

I've edc'd the 940 for 3 years...Long story short. I love it. It was my 3rd knife ever bought, but I love it so much that any other knife I've bought since then are rarely used.

I bought my 940 at the last Blade show. If youve ever been, you know the Benchmade booth is one of the first youd run into. I picked up and fondled the 940 and talked to the reps for the first 15 minutes I was there, then proceeded to go through the entire show, visiting as many booths and tables possible. Hours later I came back and bought the 940 after handling dozens of knives. The 940 impressed me. Feels great in the hand, silky smooth, and has great lines. Im a smaller knife kind of guy and found the size to be perfect. I still use my mini grip if I think im going to be doing anything dirty with my knife, but otherwise, the 940 is regularly carried.
