Benchmade 943 or spyderco paramilitary 2 which one ?

I have to say that one of my favorite factory folders is the 940! Had I not came across Alan Davis I would still be carrying the 940 most of the time. But now I carry my Alan Davis custom knives! GOOD LUCK! The Para 2 is a very nice folder too. Kevin

The 943 is an awesome edc. It just didn't feel right in the hand to me. I haven't heard of anyone having that problem with a PM2. I've got five PM2s, and I've since flipped my 943. For a small edc, I like my sage or junior better.

AWESOME !!! Thank you so much cypress ! Definetly the best size comparison pics i've seen of them so far. You made my decision! I've been looking so long for both of them and tried to compare them by what i've seen and that's exactly what i needed to see appreciate that !

Just know that the edge on the 943 is not going to look like the picture Cypress posted . The 943 came to me sharp but with a very steep grind . And if you don't know how to sharpen a knife this is a very expensive knife to learn . This one is mine I'm waiting to get some DMT diamond stones to try and fix the steep edge .

Sharpness is going to vary knife to knife, to be fair. However, the previous poster has a fair point. There have been situations from BM and Spyderco where the secondary bevel may have been overlooked. It is not an absolute truth, but a fair statement based on their personal experience. Also, considering the grind, the PM2's FFG should lend it toward smoother cuts with less blade in the way to cause resistance.

Well im not the best knife sharpener but first when i startet the only thing i had was the corner of the glass plate on my table and my knives have always been shaving sharp so i hope i can handle the edge ! And by the way dont want to get to much of the talking point but is there an affordable sharpening system anybody would recommend ?

Spyderco Sharpmaker. Cheap, simple, great. Combine with a leather strop for epic awesomeness.
