I got a 940 before the 943/came out. I love it, but would have got the 943 given the option. I do like the green scaled better than the black as I have black scales abundant.
943 is a better stabber, which makes it more weapon-like, which makes some people not to like it? Also, the pointier tip means it is less stronger than 940.
Not sure if it is a better slicer than 940 just comparing the blade shapes. I'd actually say the opposite.
Bought my 940 shortly after it came out as I wanted to try an Axis-lock knife. If the 943 had been available I'd of gone with it for the pointier blade shape.
I had a 934 it was stolen...but also owned a 940 and thought the blade shape was a bit less sturdy compared to the 940. If I get one again I would go with the 940. And love that white one
I bought the 940 but wish I had gotten the 943. After a while, the 940 reverse tanto blade begins to look like the beak on the extinct Do-Do bird. I think the clip point 943 would have served me well and certainly would be more pleasing to my eyes. But even considering the blade shape, the 940 is one of the better built knives I've ever owned.
I started out liking the 940 only because of the look, it looks more tough and aggressive. I actually didn't like the 943s until I held one and then my perspective totally changed. I have multiple versions of both, and my favorites tend to be the 943s.
I like the looks of the 943 more. I've owned a 940, and originally liked the blade shape, but I've gotten to where I think it's kind of odd now. It's certainly a nice knife, though.
I have a couple 940s and one 943. I carry the 943 much more. That thing is a serious slicer!! I love both, but the blade shape on the 943 just does it for me! Put DOAT scales on it and now love it more!
Will get some pics up later.......awesome looking knife!

I really prefer the looks of the 943s blade shape. But it sure ain't no good cutter out of the box. A fairly low grind and edgeangel like an axe, hmm. Still like mine though even if I'm not particularly impressed by the flex in the knife if it's provoked sideways. Similar knives like Kizer Sliver and ZT0450 is much sturdier round the pivotarea.
One of my favourite pocketknifes but not without flaws
The original poster asked why no love for the 943, but it seems to have gotten more love on this thread than the 940 (which might be due to biased selection of responders). But my general impression is that the 940-943 split is about 50-50. I have neither, but am saving up for a 943.
Much as i like the 940 I definitely prefer the 943. Aesthetically I prefer the 943 blade shape, and it just seems the little bit more flickable to open/close one handed with less weight in the blade.
