Benchmade 943, why no love?

I also prefer the look of the 943 and have not found that the 940 is a better cutter. In my pocket today is a stock S30V 943 blade in a 940-1 handle - its a brilliant knife!!

I'm not sure how BM determines which models get Gold Class or LE treatment but someone must be liking (and buying) all the 940 LEs - personally I'd like to see some more 943 LEs. I doubt BM would struggle to sell them.

Curious, did they ever make a 943-1 (CF)? I would be all in for one of those. TBH I didn't even know there was a 943 until this thread...it looks like the more traditional version of the 940, something that you would think makes it more popular. How weird!

Negative on the 943-1, but they did release a tiny, 25 piece run of carbon fibered 941’s back in the day..

They also released a 941D2CF 500 piece run sometime ago.. It looks exactly like my 941CFV above, the only difference being the satin D2 blade. A well known dealer still has one up for reference sake.

Would BM upgrade a plain 943 to CF and standoffs, if I sent one in to them?

Love the 940 and I love the green handles. The 943 blade shape looks like a cheap gas station knife.

I love looks of this knife, but am not sure how it cuts.Blade is narrow and is more dagger like good for stabbing. All knives I buy,I thin out them behind the edge or completely regrind them on beltsander as I use them mostly for cutting! How would this blade cut if thinned out behind the edge?Any experiences welcome:)?

Thread needs more pics. I like both models myself depending on what I am doing.
