Does anyone know where i can get a clipside scale and afck spacer?
Somehow the spacer cracked and when i took it apart and reassembled i stripped out the g10 scale. Now i have half a spacer and 1 screw instead of 2 on the bottom half of my afck. Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Ryan

If you find a spacer then let me know, I need one too. As far as screws for the scales go, I think I have a few from BM, I will check for you.

Sure thing, i just emailed benchmade for spacers. Its not the screws that are stripped. I think the screws screw right into the g10 instead of the liners. I didn't realize this and tried to tighten it too much. So when i screw into the g10 the screw just spins. Sux but i hope they can send me new scale. IF they will sell me spacers i'll just order 2. Probably only a couple bucks, but i have a feeling they wont sell parts. :(

Yeah I asked Angie on the phone for a spacer and offered to pay and they said they couldn't help me on that one:(

Well at around 3pm this afternoon I was online, reading this thread when I spotted the mail man down the street through the window. So I said what the hell, I grabbed my beat up AFCK, threw it in an padded envelope, printed out a quick letter, address slip and threw it in the mail with a few stamps. Lets see how it turns out. My AFCK had a broken spacer, the butterly emblem few off(I included it in the envelope), it was dull, had blade wobble, and overall was beat down. Lets see what happens:)

UPDATE:

As mentioned above, I put my beat up AFCK, falling apart from abuse in a padded evelope, No Innsurance, No Delivery confirmation, No Money for return shipping. I just recieved the knife back today. New scales, new screws, new spacer, new clip and razor sharp. They pretty much replaced everything except the blade, which is the older Spydie Hole, or else they probably would have replaced that. I couldn't be happier. Thanks Angie and BM crew!!!!!!!!!!!!

oops, Forgot to mention, Lock is solid, its smoother than when I originally purchased it, and it came home with a new box, something I didn't have for this knife. :)

Nice TBG, glad that worked out well for ya. I'm still waiting on mine, hopefuly it will be as good as your came out :)

I think everyone who participated in THIS thread should read the above.

Benchmade has a history of taking care of their customers and I'm glad to hear the same held true for you TBG.

cpirtle, I was one of the ones complaining too, I paid about $1.50 in stamps and now look how they took care of me :) No complaints from me on BM customer service for now on!!!

I love BM's customer service as much as their knives.
I emailed Angie a couple days ago asking how much they wanted for 3 silver colored clips to replace my old black ones on my 940slv, 941cfd2, and mini grip....she said to just give her my address and she'd send them out...with new screws to match(if they had them)
AWESOME!!!!!!

Alright you guys convinced me to take my AFCK out of my EDC rotation and ship it off to BM. We'll see how this turns out.

Look, I know Benchmade makes excellent knives, but this thread has me a little nervous.

You see, I have a BM800 AFCK on order through KnifeCenter.com (and my browser can't seem to find their server, but that's another issue and in fact another thread). It hasn't arrived yet because my BM100SH2O is on backorder.

Now I read this thread and find that the AFCK -- a $90 knife! -- has handle screws that go right into the G-10 scales, and not into liners, so they can strip? And the Butterfly emblem is a separate part that can FALL OFF?! Say it isn't SO! I'm really hoping to like this knife a LOT ('specially for the money) and I don't want to get it, examine it (I really bought it site-unseen, actually), and find that I think a lot of things were not done right. To me, when a knife, gun, car, etc. has more parts than necessary, it is not done right. I don't like things that have the potential to loosen, or fall off.

I just hope I made the right decision with this knife. With any luck I won't have to offer it for sale unused for having disliked it.

The tales of Benchmade's customer service are heartening, but what's the deal with them not being willing to ship people needed parts? Is it simply that they demand to do the work so people don't void their warranties?

Here's hoping I find reason enough to become a Benchmade devotee! :p

I think the AFCK that is being reffered to is an older model. The spacer also broke on mine. I fashioned a new one out of lexan but the screws threaded into the titanium liner and were stripped! I sent it back to BM and they replaced the entire handle!!!!! It has inserts in the handle that the screws thread into instead of the titanium liner. Better than new!!!! Don't sweat it, your'e getting a great knife from a great co.;)

Yea, i sent back an older model and believe TheBadGuy did to. I think the spacers in the new afck are longer and less brittle. Atleast my 806d2 has a longer and more durable spacer. I wouldn't be worried about not getting a great knife, the afck is my favorite benchmade hands down.

Well, hopefully I'll have my AFCK within a week. Thanks for the reassurances. I ordered from Knifecenter.com and I don't have any idea whether what they are selling is "older" or "newer" versions... Can anyone tell me how I can figure it out once I get my knife?
