A buddy got me a used AFCK,axis lock, its still in pretty good condition.I have been wanting this knife for years, and should've bought the liner lock version that I really liked long time ago..Anyways,i got it now and would like to know any experiences with this knife, what are pros and cons of this design?I might be getting the linerlock version too,if I ever find it on ebay!

Pros: Lightweight for the size, comfortable in pocket and in hand, very decent cutting geometry, great lock mechanism, plenty of grip without being abrasive. Cons: Discontinued.

It's an all around great knife, I honestly like it even better than the famous 710 or extremely popular 940.

I have three; two linerlocks in ATS34 and a Axis lock in D2. True tactical classic with great ergs, lockup, and overall quality. Still a part of my EDC rotation, I am always looking to buy another.

The one I got is d2 which I love.I like Benchmades linerlocks more than axis, and love all old style benchmades. Was there the full flat ground version of the afck too?I think I remember seeing full flat ground one some time ago online.

Thread needs some porn

One of my all time favorites. Should never have sold these.

This is the only one I cant seem to let go of....Would love to find an 806D2

I prefer the 800/liner locks..on these as well. But the 805/6 are still some of my favorites.

The AFCK was my first and remains my favorite BM. It was also my most carried and used knife. It's one tough knife. As mentioned above, only downside is it's discontinued.

Agree with all previous; it's a very solid design and the ergonomics are great with that deep finger cutout. Just locks in very well and you can still choke up on it a bit.

My only con would be that it's got a pretty big footprint for a 4" blade when compared to the 710.

Josh at Razor Edge reground mine to ffg and then put the swedge back on - love it even more now.

As mentioned, it has one downside... it's discontinued.

BM ever fires up the presses on this knife again, they'll sell a billion of 'em.

Wish they'd hurry it up.

I have a pair-

I carried the mini for a long time but haven't used the full size version much. I liked the mini as an EDC although most of my knives now are at least a little bit beefier. I do like the more recent 805, at least the looks of it, although I've never handled one. The AFCK is a little light compared to some popular knives today, but that makes it cut better.

Nice pair, bdmicarta.

Never had a mini, always wanted to try one. I prefer the 805 to the 806 as well..I like the stout tip and overall blade shape. The full size carries well w/ the flat slabs as opposed to the -1101's w/ the rounded scales (still some of my all time favorites, just didn't carry as well in pocket) ..the flat slabs and, as was mentioned, the 3.9' blade, in a tighter package is why the 710 is my most carried..

As much as I love the Axis versions , the 800's are brilliant. Less quirks like blade play, loosening pivots as on some Axis..never had issue w/ liner locks..alway smooth like silk w/ great lock up..

When I first started in the obsession, I wanted nothing to do w/ liner locks..found out on a 910 that BM does/did them right. And I think the liners are Ti, both sides, on the 800's...plus, less parts than Axis...less places to fail or shit to go sideways....love the Axis but there is something special about the 800 series..

It will be interesting to get some pictures comparing the AFCK and the military indeed...

It will be so great to have Benchmade making some more AFCK again. This design is very attractive to me

Every time this thread gets bumped it makes me want one again. If I ever score one I will be able to post some millie comparison pics.

The last afck was a knifeworks exclusive a few yaesr ago from what I remember. I think they had a hard time selling them all.
