Benchmade axis lock

There has been small handful of reports of Omega springs breaking. I have no problems with my Axis locks, they are very good so far. But does BM offer explanation yet- it is random "bad apple", or perhaps mediocre springs that would last longer with better quality replacements, or something else?

I have an idea That I believe would be more reliable than those wire Omega springs.... A simple forked spring formed out of sheet spring steel. I dont think they'd break ever. ok BM, if you start doing this, I want my $$ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
