Benchmade Bali-song misinformation

I had an odd experience today.at a farmers market I got into a conversation with a "gentlemen"selling knives concerning butterfly/balisongs.He just had cheapies and mentioned the only other kind he was getting were Benchmades,both production and custom in two weeks.I thought at first these were a hidden stash,stored away ib some warehouse for years but he claimed Benchmade was making them now.I told him he must be mistaken as that differs from what I've heard.He got angry and said I was implying he didn't know his business because he was only a lowly Flea market dealer but he is really a big wholesaler.I left.

Well, I know where you'll be saturday ofter next.

It is possible that some lost cache may have turned up at some distributor or something.

About a year ago, a dealer here in Portland was straightening up his store room when he found a pile of Parker Eagle balisongs. He looked through his paperwork and finally found an invoice from 1981. Eighteen years old. I bought the whole pile and the invoice too.

But, Benchmade is not making balisongs right now and has not for about a year except for the recent limited-edition and a couple of very special projects.

They are planning to re-introduce a re-designed Bali-Song line in about a year.

Although it would be great if this person was talking about some lost cache of Benchmades I am sure he was just blowing smoke as I asked him the same but he kept saying they were still being made at Benchmade and being shipped from them in two weeks.I'm going to print Benchmades homepage and drop it off to him because they state exactly what we all know,they are not being currently made.

I was at Benchmade on friday visiting with the craftsman who makes all the balisongs (and I saw their new laser. Wow, that thing cuts). Your friend should call the factory because I think they lost his order.

If I really thought this guys story was true I would not have posted this as I'd be fighting off all the other collectors.I would have emailed you to see if you wanted to split the order with me.
BTW I left out that this "gentleman" kept shifting his eyes and would not make eye contact.I remember the scene in Pulp Fiction when the thugs stumble into a store run by shifty people and bad things followed.I left the place clutching my three kids and three guns at the same time!

Clay-I didn't think of that till later when I got home. Instead of arguing with the guy I should have just said I wanted to order 12 and watched his reaction.
