Benchmade Barrage 580 OR Nitrous Stryker

I've got both (actually several versions of both -- I really like AOs) - my pref is the Stryker... It's less bulky, and the nitrous AO mechanism lasts forever... It's not spring-based so it'll be pretty tough to wear out (I've cylced one of mine -- no joke -- probably 50,000 times throughout the course of daily use as an EDC and obsessive use (like watching TV and flicking it open like a nut)...

Barrages are nice too though - they fire real hard, and the AXIS lock is nice. The 581s are out now too - with a tanto blade... in case you like that.

Not meaning to hijack this thread, but to you who have edc'ed both the full size and the Mini-Stryker....Which one do you prefer in terms of carry and cutting?

Ive handled the full sized one, and i dont think its that heavy as to make it uncomfortable while carrying. But it sure didnt look sheeple-friendly in black, tanto and part-serrated :D

I have 2 of the full size barage's and 2 of the full size strykers with the spear point blades. I don't think you can go wrong with either. The strykers have been flawless with a great lock up for a liner lock, very beefy liner locks. I had an issue with one of the barage's. The pivot screw loosened up and you got to take the scales off to adjust it. And if not careful you will end up taking the knife apart and it takes a while to get it back together. But after getting it back together and putting a little blue lock tite on the pivot screw, it has worked perfect ever since. Also they fire very fast, which I like, as fast as any auto I have ever had.:D
