benchmade blade marking question

The etchers at Benchmade all have their own way of doing etching.

Your was done by Alice, who runs the machine on Wednesdays.

The fourth pic, which is by Bart, is from a Monday production run.
His are usually the best centered of all the people doing etching.
I found out that he's deeply religious, so he doesn't drink on weekends
which means he's in good shape for working on Mondays.

I always ask Benchmade for a Bart knife.

Agreed. Bart's knives are head and shoulders above the rest

I thought something was wrong with my knife and everyone jump down my throat

Don't feel bad. Alice does a fine job, and really puts her heart into her work. You should be proud; that butterfly was applied w/ love.

Well, I guess it's just our way of letting you know that you thought wrong. :p No need to go and have hard feelings about it.

Besides, you'll upset Alice if you keep going the way you are...She really takes pride in her work. ;)

in all seriousness. every blade is different. not all knives are gonna be exact to the T. also, you have to consider the grind on the blade. that can also be slightly off with each knife. but at the end of the day, you still have an awesome rift. dont sweat the small stuff

nice job paying retail and 9% sales tax in Maine.

first of all I had a 100 dollar gift card there from christmas... im sick of everyone being wee-wee heads to me on here for no reason. kittery trading post has been getting my business for years for hunting gear and will continue to get it regardless. and I wouldn't mind paying retail for it either because im not cheap, and earn myself a good living...

oh and maine is 5%.

Easy.. No need to get upset. This forum has seen a lot of ridiculous complaints regarding QC, QA, etc. that just get old fast.

Long story short, there is nothing wrong with the etching at all, if you don't like it then sell it.

Gentlemen, it's late, I'm irritable, many of you are unacceptably vulgar and insulting. We have a new member here who came to show off his knife. The reception he got belongs in Whine & Cheese, not the General Knife Discussion. I am tempted to move your remarks there and let you play with yourselves. And leave his posts here for more temperate, welcoming, intelligent responses.

Any apologies? I owe a few of you warnings or infractions for your behavior. See http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/f...infractions_banning#faq_faq_infractions_lists -- items 3, 4, and 9 are especially notable here.

See ya in the morning.

thank you.

thank you.

You're welcome. Stick around. We normally show more courtesy here and more interest in a great knife. The Rift has gotten high marks,

You're doing right by buying local. If no one supports the good stores, there won't be any place to shop but online. It's hard to try them out, see which is comfortable, pick out a good knife from an electronic advertisement.

ya it was the last one, display model it just felt so nice and was so smooth and had zero play in any direction.. so I got it for a discounted price. just thought something was up since the logo was so much off compared to all the other ones I've looked at?? that's all.. I didn't come here to fight with these guys...

m8r8j, if I contributed to making your first experience on Bladeforums an unpleasant one, I apologize. I meant no offense by my remarks and intended only a gentle ribbing. If anything I said upset you, I am sorry.

Mods, you have my apologies. In the future, I will think twice before posting letters followed by a series of asterixes. At least I had the foresight not to use the dreaded X*q******* or o****** words, though - that would have gone far beyond the pale of acceptable gentlemanly comportment. Such vulgar use of the asterix key shall not happen again; you have my word.

Sorry m8. Judging by the posts, we were only joking around! :) Kinda like busting your balls, ya know?

Anyway, welcome to the boards. This topic was hilariously entertaining.
