Best Benchmade blue box folder and why?
(To be used as EDC to cope with whatever!)

710 for pure function. I think it lacks a soul, though.

The Skirmish is my favorite.

Early production* 910 Stryker with BT finish on the blade.
*Got a recent ('06) one and almost threw it away it was a POS.

Feels right, perfect blade length, serrations not too obtrusive... just there when you need'um. Smooth cutting with that coated blade. And most importantly, the tip can be used as a screwdriver (what else?) to fix eye glasses in emergencies.

HOI................!
Because doesn't cut it, sneaky!

Thanks to all, keep'em comin'

710 is the king of hard use folders though. It won't let you down. I like my D2 coated though, so look for a M2HS or HSSR or the older 154CM's. Enjoy.

My 710D2 is definitely my favorite so far............But the Rukus should be here any day now. We'll see.

My 710-D2 is the best knife I've ever owned. I love the axis lock, but I really love the D-2. It holds a push cutting edge forever. And, it's BEAUTIFUL!!!:)

Funny thing, I've read mixed reviews on D2.
Some love it, some hate it.
That said I would have expected a TOOL steel to be extra tough....?

730, for me. I have the 730CFHS, and that thing get's worked harder than any other knife I own. That M2 takes and holds a great edge, and the ergos of the handle are just about perfect. If the black coating didn't look so bad with all the scratches, I'd even take that one to church on Sundays.

And it IS tough!

Bob Dozier uses only D-2 in his custom knives. That was all the "endorsement" that I needed!:D

My vote is for the Skirmish 630BK I consider it one of the nicer folders I have ever used. I think that it’s a great looking folder, it opens and closes smooth as silk, it’ cuts extremely well and lockup is rock solid. As an aside, when I really down it listens to me without judgment.
