Benchmade blue box!

My vote goes to the 710 or the 552 both have the Axis lock and are great all around knives.

Rog that Ben... Given that a folder is a compromise tactically for a real fighting knive( several different specific movements to engage the weapon in an adverse tactical situation)... of all the folders I have carried tactically(including my Mini-commander) my 710- D2 kicks ass relative to all my other folders. If you want a great fixed blade duty carry knife for under 50 bucks I recommend the CRKT Polkowski Companion.

My 710-D2 is the best knife I've ever owned. I love the axis lock, but I really love the D-2. It holds a push cutting edge forever. And, it's BEAUTIFUL!!!:)

you have to understand.. just because its "tougher" doesnt mean it necessarily "better". it also depends on your definition of "tough" a stiffer steal will chip and break quicker than a little softer steel which is more prone to roll.

Funny thing, I've read mixed reviews on D2.
Some love it, some hate it.
That said I would have expected a TOOL steel to be extra tough....?

Both highly functional knives for everyday use, easy to sharpen and hold an edge for a long time. In an emergency, they could be used to fight, if your gun jams!

Any BM. I have never felt a Benchmade that I didn't think would be a great knife or user. If it helps, I like the Monochrome, 555, Pika and the 530. I have heard that the 710 is excellent also.

Try the Morpho. I am not a bali guy, this is my first one. I don't care about all the tricks and flips, I care about function. I use my knives daily. This is a VERY well made knife. Jeweled ti liners, machined g10 slabs, d2 blade, pb washers with the ultimate of smooth action. How strong is the lock? It takes that factor right out of the picture. It's light, classy and a great utility shape blade at 3.25. It's a fantastic edc for me.
