Hi Everyone,

Do any of you have this knife and can give some info. on it?
Is it real Walnut wood or some kind of plastic? Are they new and will they be around for awhile?

Any other info. would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You

Ya definitely real wood. I've got one. It's got the benchmade quality just like you'd expect from benchmade. Can't see it being discontinued any time soon either.

I have one in the blue/black g10 handles. Awesome knife for the money. It's practically a better handled, and full linered griptillian with almost no added cost. Great underrated knife

The Bone Collectors might outdo the Griptilians, but are much closer to the Presidio family which the design is based on. Blades interchange between the large and small models. Here's my hybrid using a 520 blade and stock 15020 frame:

Both are Mel Pardue designs, I too think of it as the upgraded Griptilian and honestly the 52x replaced the 72x. As you know, I think the 72x is the superior design and even though the 520 was the replacement it didn't share much in design or feel.

Just my two cents. (Adjusted for inflation) ;)

I've got a mini BC in every flavor. Black/green G10 (my EDC), walnut, and black G10. I took the clip off the walnut one and tote it in a horizontal leather sheath on occasion. My Son carries a black mini BC. They are exceptional knives IMHO. They sold me on BM's D2, but I think the real performance of it is rooted in being RC 60-62, and the great geometry of the flat grind and the microbevel.

They are my favorite that BM's put out to date, having collected BM's since the late '80s.

I really like this fella's video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNxlUzGFDw0

He seems like someone I could hang out with.

The walnut version is lighter than its G10 counterpart, both are exceptional knives. I love my full size with the black/green G10, don't understand why the knife seems to be less popular than the grips, maybe the logos? Anyhow I had never heard of Michael Waldell nor do I care that the logos are there, the knife cuts so well and it's also a heavy duty knife.

My wife gave me the little BC folder for Christmas when they were just released. She liked it so much, I had to get her one! Also shown is my large BC for size comparison. Not shown is my more recent wood handled lockback folder BC.

Great bargains - great designs. You can get over the logo, if that deters you.

It is bigger and bulkier, and I do sort of preffer the Grip for everyday pocketability

(I do have the Shot Show Grip so it does have the upgraded scales, but I never minded the normal scales)

What is the main difference between the Walnut and G10 version?

I am looking as this knife as my first D2 blade to add to my collection.

If you prefer wood you should get the one with wood, if you prefer G10 then get one with G10. simple as that.

I just got a full size Bone Collector in G10 and it is a great knife.
It is a good bargain too with the D2 steel.

I really picked it up because I liked my REI Grip in G10 so much but did not want to use it at work and destroy it.
For under 100 bucks I have no problem putting this through its paces.

I had one and returned it because the wood scales would get hungup in my pocket. Nice knife but not functional for me.
