After seeing The4ths stripped down Nimravus I decided to go ahead and strip the BT2 off my 710.I used my buffer instead of scotch brite pads.I used a course compound and the BT2 was removed easily. The finished blade is now a dull gray and looks pretty good.I guess this is the way BM blades look before they are treated with the BT2.It almost looks like a bead blasted finish and when I look at it with a magnifing glass it looks porous so that the coating can penetrates the surface.Maybe this is why the BT2 still protects even when scratched.
This was just an interesting observation I made and was wondering if anyone knows about the process in which BM's blades are coated with the BT2.Thanks.
