Recommendation? Benchmade Bugout blade HQ 20cv

I want one of these and ebay have several but don’t want a fake. The Blade HQ exclusive with the 20cv blade and g10 bandle version. There is one on an ebay auction that says 100% authentic and sealed. How can i tell if it is the real thing. Can anyone tell me or send me a link to a real one? Prefer brand new. Thanks
 
i personally just wouldn't buy one on Ebay ever. My brother-in-law got a bladhq 940 jade with M4 off of Ebay, after i recommended not to. It wound up being a fairly convincing fake. He even stated he had the original receipt, but the seller never provided it with the fake knife.
 
I've gotten a few Benchmade knives from ebay, but none recently. It's gotten down right ridiculous how many fakes are on there, and ebay does nothing about it. You have to keep your antenna up real high and learn to spot fakes, as mentioned, some of them are pretty convincing.

Ask questions! Ask to see snapshot of receipt, and make them send receipt(s) with knife/knives. If the deal's too good to be true, it's most likely a fake. Zoom in on all the pictures and compare them with other knives of the same model you know are the real thing.

Biggest suggestion, get a paid membership to BF, and buy from reputable dealers and individuals.

The ebay ad is from a seller with Lot of positive reviews and states the box is still sealed. Shows pics of the box and everything. Shows he accepts returns also

Stock photos is a red flag, they accept returns tho. Low risk if you get it post pics and we can help validate it, if it's fake you can send it back.
 
Does not look like the box is sealed to me. Plus feedback for this item is bland and not great.

That doesn't guarantee anything. Buy a real one, get the receipt, make copies, and use them when you sell fakes.
 
Here is a response from the seller..

this is the last 535-2002 that I have, sold 2 already. Is authentic, I got it from BladeHQ a while back. This last has a slight different naming on their box where it didn’t say BladeHQ exclusive, but the code 535-2002. Just want you to be aware of. I use stock photo cause I didn’t open the box and take pictures. I attached my ordering photo here as well. Thanks
 
I guess if returns are accepted you could risk it. Depends how bad you want that specific model. Everyone has different stances, Im in the camp that I rule Ebay out completely.


I have bought a bunch of vintage guitar tubes on there with pretty good luck.
 
I am going to pass on this knife. Really wanting a knife to swap scales to Micarta. Already have an elmax version and rockscale designs scales on the way. Wanting a black blade or possibly a colored blade. So looking at the knife center exclusive red with black magnacut blade or a Crater blue grivery with fde s30v blade. Or maybe another elmax/green. Looking at either blue or orange linen micarta scales on this one To many choices
