Hello, I am new and may have posted on the wrong forums. Anywho, I recently purchased a benchmade contego 810s on amazon from a somewhat reputable dealer for 170 after tax. I was hoping If someone who has had experience with this knife could give me their honest opinion about its authenticity. Thank you.

I've got no experience with the Contego; but I was able to access your images. Hopefully this helps.

Umm, I don't know if it's authentic or not, but I played with one at cabelas and I wasn't too impressed. Felt cheap. Like when I gripped the scales they flexed inward. I did not like that one bit. I can see a $50 knife having some flex like that, but not a $100 + BM.

I was disappointed so I passed.

So you have no actual contribution to the OP and you thought you would just throw out how you don't like the knife? Awesome.

OP, that is authentic. Great knife by the way!

I had one and I didn't feel any flex in the grips. I'm competing in the 242 lb class at a powerlifting meet Saturday so I would say my grip is fairly adequate to test that.

I sold mine brand new for less than $150 on the exchange here. You should've looked there first.
