Benchmade Contego thoughts?

The gray cerakote makes the blade look like it has a bead blasted finish.

Yeah I'm not super happy with how it does look bead blasted, but with how big and agressive the knife looks already by design I just felt like getting the all black version pushed it over the limit a bit on being 'scary'. I know some people don't care if their knives scare other people but I'd rather avoid it if I could. I would LOVE it if I could get the black clip from the BK blade version on my gray cerakoted Contego so the clip wasn't shining from my pocket all the time.

I think I'm going to pick up the all black version. I've noticed that people tend to notice a "shiny" blade more than the all black ones. The satin finished blades catch and reflect more light than the black matte finish. Either way, looks like a winner to me. I'm sold.

FWIW, it isn't satin. BM's clear coating is not clear but a dull medium gray and not shiny at all.

Funny you say that, I was just thinking about doing that the other day. I might just try making the clip more satin first though with some sanding and see if it looks alright, no need to bother them over at BM CS if I don't need to.

good decision imo. The black definitely looks more stealth.
