Was looking over the custom shop today just messing around and got to thinking. Another layer that they haven't opened up to their custom knife shop feature that I think would be really cool would be the ability to specify the grind type. I really like the look of a carbon fiber fullsize griptillian in either M4 or S90v but it is a shame that has to come with the normal saber ground blade. I would absolutely jump at the ability to get a hollow ground or even full flat ground blade to make the most out of the upgraded steel choices. Im sure it would cost more but everything costs more on the custom shop already and I am sure there are some folks that still remember the old hollow ground 154 blades on the standard griptilians that would take a shot on a full done custom version.

That would be cool, personally I'd be a custom shop customer if they would just offer uncoated m4.
Agreed. If we are spending what the custom shop prices demand I am sure we can handle a non stainless steel.

Whoever ground my Mini Adamas did an ok'ish job, except the tip was uneven.

Heck, I'd like the option for them to ship knives w/out the edge ground at all. Just ship them w/ the bevels and let us put the edge on. THAT would be nice. No worry about burnt or uneven edges.

I haven't been impressed with any of the factory Benchmade edges. I usually see how they cut paper for giggles and immediately reprofile it on a Wicked Edge.

I just ordered a customized Griptillian...
Can anybody give me an idea as to how long delivery REALLY takes?

I bought a custom crooked river back on March 23rd and it arrived May 28th. Now, the supply chain issues are probably a bit different now than they were at that point in time and it also depends on the materials that you got since some steel is probably harder for them to get their hands on than others but as a point of reference it took over 2 months to get mine in hand.

Thanks for the heads-up on that! 👍
It's not a radical order: I only decided to go with M4 steel, and carbon fiber scales...

Well...I also had M4 on my Crooked river... went with blacked out hardwear and the normal wood scales. Hard to tell what the hold up was. One of their customer service reps said that it was the bolster, then when I called back a few weeks later looking for an update another rep said it was the washers which I found hard to believe given they are normal bronze washers.

Just for when I start getting impatient: Can you give me their phone number?

Its on their website as well with an email. Though I had far more success getting in touch with someone via the phone.

UPDATE: I received an email from them. The new knife is ready to be shipped.
Every day will now feel like the lead-up to Christmas!

Yep, if your a manufacturer your short materials and it changes daily, weekly, monthly etc.
Im curious if you manufacturer or sell bronze washers? Google sand shortage, can a person say its just sand? Its a screwy world right now for manufacturing.

Tough time to be a manufacturer I try and be conscientious of that and I have the knife in hand now and the wait was worth it to get what I wanted.

I was surprised at how quick my custom Crooked River came. Ordered to my front door in 8 days

Glad to hear it: congratulations!
How about a picture of the "Happy Couple"?

No doubt: she's a beauty! I really like those classic lines.
