Hi guys, i just got a knife back from Benchmade, and boy can i tell you, it was a wild ride trying to get the thing serviced. so much so i made a video chronicling my experience; for those of you interested I'll link to it down below. But I'm just curious, what your experiences have been with the company? Love' em? Hate' em? i only own a few of their knifes and can honestly say that after this experience im a bit worried about purchasing more. but id love to hear what you guys have to say on the topic so please, leave a comment.

This will probably moved to the Feedback section...

For me, I've had only great experiences with Benchmade CS.

All good experiences here. Haven't needed their CS much since 2005 when I first started carrying Benchmades, but every experience has been first class.

I posted this in another thread; Thought it would fit here, too:

Last time I contacted Benchmade about replacement parts, I emailed them in the evening. Woke up to their reply saying expect the parts in two weeks. Received the parts two weeks later.

I no longer own any Benchmade knives, but wouldn't hesitate to buy more. Benchmade has been nothing but good to me. Their CS was top notch and I've never had a single complaint.

Whether the OP takes offense to this, or not, I don't care, but this is Bladeforums... a forum... Please try to type up your experience rather than linking us to a video on your YouTube channel. I skipped through the video and all I saw was stock photos, until the end.

It's probably different being sent from our store but the one time I had to send in a customers knife it was painless and was sent back within the time they estimated.

I had a knife with an issue and I was moving in two weeks. I told BM c s about the problem and they turned my knife around in a week.

Benchmade customer service is the gold standard as far as I'm concerned. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, excellent warranty, free sharpening, free clips, $25 replacement blades, and super fast turnaround times.

that I do not seem to need customer service often, says a lot. The only time I have needed them in ages, was to ask for a replacement thumb stud for a 531. The needed part showed up in just a few days, no charge. I am very much satisfied.

My experience with BM CS has been excellent.

Posted this in the BM sub just a bit ago, guess it can go here too:

I just received a knife back from BM yesterday- I printed out the form and shipped, and got an email when they received it with a work order number. Mine just needed a little tune up and they put a great edge back on it. They had the knife 4 days. The one email I sent was answered within a few hours. Everything went pretty smooth for me.

Benchmade recognized the problem and fixed the knife. I don't see a problem here.

I have a Benchmade Adamas Auto 2750 and had to send it in due to the knife opening at barely at touch to the axis lock, which was nice but dangerous in the pocket. So it was returned to me after a week with a nice sharp blade, a paper saying the problem was a broken omega spring.......and the same lock problem. I decided to take it apart myself and see what i could figure out. First scale off i found a broken omega spring which was the cause of my problem from the beginning and supposed to have been repaired. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1URWzrfr5lxXl3CwuuMP8i346LLuFbkOcdA. I also found that the female end of the pivot was not replace correctly as you can see. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1RhedQxfyz_zf9z1Co5QudU7ED-JaVFIEmwI had always heard great things of Benchmades CS but it appears as this knife was not given the attention they should have. Knife has since been repaired again, correctly and now the axis lock sticks during deployment. I will not be sending it back.

My limited dealings with their CS have been good. They were all for small part items (stripped screws on a used knife I got and a couple of replacement pocket clips).

I watched the vid, they definitely dropped the ball, granted all companies occasionally do even Spyderco, its not policy so much as someone goofed. I honestly find a month acceptable, however they quoted 2-4 days, so to wait a month, again someone definitely dropped the ball. Also nice to see another majoras mask fan.

I sent in at least a 10 year old Benchmade 910 Stryker probably older with stripped torx screw and blade play. They barely communicated with me throughout the process, which I don't care about:eek:. They had my knife back to me within 9 days with new torx screws, no blade play, and freshly sharpened. I could care less what happened while it was gone and frankly don't need a step by step update on what they are doing to it. They completely refurbished a knife that they haven't produced in many years with no proof of purchase or anything. They are good to go in my book only second to Leatherman's service.

As a dealer we've always had good experiences with Benchmade's service. My only complaint is that we have to keep track of boxes when items are sent back as they come back in a generic "silver" Benchmade box.
