So,

I was at a local knife shop and the proprieter says "Look at this".

And he hands me the Benchmade 730S, Elishewitz Ares.

Purple and Black G-10

Axis Lock

Dual Thumstuds

Most Excellent

Now, I get to wait for the Plain to come in.

The blade is a modified spear/drop point, with a back swedge. Instead of a index indent, it has a crest in the middle of your fingers. Handle shape is very similar to the Stryker but different.

Reversible Clip

Contoured scales that show off the two color scales.....

There are already pictures in another thread. I just ordered mine yesterday from www.gpknives.com. Hope it comes this weekend!

PURPLE?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
The one color I have never cared for. I guess my monitor colors must be off, I've been seeing the 730 in a red/wood color with black. Oh well, I guess I have to actually "play" with it for a while before I decide to get one or not.

Beauty in the eye of the beholder and all that, but this knife disappoints me. It looks like BM is recycling Sentinal blades and the handle, while a step up in some regards, is definitely a couple of steps down from the most excellent scales on the custom Ares. I much prefer the looks and utility of the Pardue Axis lock.
