Benchmade error

I purchased a Benchmade 300-1 but recieved a 300S-1 instead (serrated version).

The question is should I stick with the 300S-1 or ask for a remplacement to get the correct item (300-1/non serrated)?

What are the pros and cons of both (share same value/price)?

Only you can decide if you want the serrated version. I'm thinking you've already made that decision, as you ordered the non-serrated model.

Contact whatever vendor you bought from and get the knife replaced with the one you really wanted. They should look after you if they are a reputable company.

Combo blades tend to have a lower resale value as a lot of folks, myself included, don't like them. Otherwise it's entirely up to you. I'd be sending it back.

Thanks,

I will be sending it back to get what I originally wanted.
Plus the serrated part will be impossible to sharpen.

Check YouTube. Serrations are easy enough to sharpen, I just don't like combo blades. I don't like being surprised by a snag on the serrations when I intended to use the plain bit. Full serrations or full plain edge for me thanks.

I would send it back as well.

Serrations are easy to sharpen, but you need the right tool/s. Combo edges aren't for me, though.
