I had contacted Benchmade about two to three weeks ago about getting a deep carry pocket clip for my benchmade griptilian. I had contacted them through both email and calling them directly. They had both responded and said that they would ship it out to me. Three weeks later still nothing. What should I do? Just go ahead and buy one from amazon or just wait some more and if it doesn't come contact them again? After seeing the other thread about the 781 benchmade that @W-cole bought and the poor quality control from benchmade, this has completely changed my perspective on the company. It's starting to make me question benchmade as a whole. I also own a Spyderco Delica and one of the screws was stripped out on it. I contacted them and they had it out to me in three days at my doorstep. Then I pay $100 for a benchmade that is supposed to be a god of a knife and I can't even get a pocket clip for it within three weeks! I'm kind of miffed about the company now. But anyways whats your all's take on this?

Something must have happened. I always get my clips within a week or calling and I'm on the east coast. Likely lost in the mail. Just call back Monday and you will likely have one by Friday.

Every time I contacted them for a clip(email) it got to me in a week or so after I told them what I was looking for. Actually surprised me each time because it showed up so quick. Some times they take a little while to respond back, they are a pretty big company afterall. I honestly couldn't be happier with their customer service.

I've read a ton of hate on Benchmade, but they've never gave me a single reason to complain. Do you like your knife? And how is the fit and finish in your opinion? That'd worry me more than them taking a little while to get a clip to me.

I have about ten benchmades and don't care much for the standard clips, I really like the deep carry.
They have sent me a total of five in the last six months, one request by email and one by phone. It can take a week or two to receive them but you forget and it's a pleasant surprise when they arrive.
Just ordered three more by phone a couple of days ago and the very nice young lady said they were a little behind and that they would not ship until next week. Always a pleasant experience and I don't mind waiting since they are free.
Spyderco's customer service is top notch as well but their clips are around $6 a pop.
I don't mind waiting with that type of service and no cost on top of it.
Just sharing my experience.

Benchmade's a huge company. I think they don't miss much with their system, but things happen. Skip emails; for faster action call them at 800-800-7427 and ask for the clips again. Out of many hundreds of requests only one or two either didn't show up or got lost in the mail, in my case...so patience is required sometimes.

I live in Canada and I called for a couple deep carries and received them about 3 and a half weeks later. They may still be coming?

I will call them back tomorrow and order another one. In response to M McFeeli I do like my benchmade and the fit and finish is outstanding on it and i'm pleased with the knife. It just seems like they are lacking customer service based on what me and others have experienced.

Glad you ask.... I talked to them directly this past week and they are going through a system change. My 940-2 has been with them for almost a month now. They are unable to email directly for a short bit so two universal emails are being sent out twice a week. Your clips are on the way, just taking a while at the current moment

I'm interested to know what others you speak of. All I seem to hear is that benchmade has outstanding customer service. I have had excellent experiences and have used them a bunch from clips and screws to getting knives fixed. They are as good or better than anybody in the business. Now there fit and finish is another story but customer service is excellent. If you stick around and use them again I'm sure you will see that. This is a fluke I guarantee that. I have probably parts sent to me over ten different times and they always arrived in a week. Could honestly be USPS. I have had some bad experiences with them. Just don't give up yet. Especially since you like the knife. Griptilians are awesome.

I actually called and requested some clips for my 551-ORG back on 6/15 and still haven't gotten them yet, but when I followed up 2 days ago with a phone call, they said they've been backlogged but are processing the requests that come in, and to give it a few more weeks. I don't mind as long as it eventually comes in. I mean, it's free after all.

As a followup to this post, I forgot to mention that I did receive the clips at the end of August. They were nice enough to place 2 of each (black and stainless) of their deep carry clips in for me. I have one now on my full size grip, mini barrage, and mini grip, along with one reserve in case of breakage.

That is definitely what I also experienced they have a could not careless attitude and that is being nice. Go check my thread under MIXED FEELINGS under BENCHMADE. I sent them at least a doze emails two months and three weeks later still no clips...If the had to reship today my guess is that it take at least another two months...4 months for free clips and a ton of frustration, not worth it. At one stage I was asked by the person handling my request, if I was from Russia because that is why it took longer...In the meantime I am not from Russia but from Mauritius...they just had to read the emails I sent giving my address details. anyhow there is much more to it. I will not buy BM products again. If I am not important to them then it works both ways.

Glad you posted a follow up. I've gotten clips a week after up and up to a month after. If you think Benchmade doesn't care about customers wait until you've paid a similar price for another brand and need a clip. They'll charge you $8.95 plus shipping.

Anyone else see the irony is complaining about a free bonus service a company provides? It isn't like the clips are part of a contract upon purchase (like LifeSharp is).

For what it is worth, the first time I ordered a replacement clip I did it via email and had to follow up after a couple weeks and apparently it wasn't processed. But when finally sent it came in within a week. Then, I accidentally broke it (it was the parkarized deep carry) trying to tighten it bit. I gave a call and they sent a new parkerized one as well as a plain silver one. No complaints with that follow up.

I guess it is all perspective.

You do you, I'll do me.

Sorry Benchmade didn't meet your expectations. For me, when it comes to things like clips and replacement parts, I find them to be the most generous company out there.

When the Omega springs on my Kulgera broke a few years ago, I sent them multiple emails, which to this day have never been answered. When I called them on the phone, they were very helpful and responded quickly.

I doubt someone even looks at their email.
