benchmade griptilian or sog pentagon elite

The Griptilian's blade, though, is about a half inch shorter than the PE14's.
Another aspect to consider. Also the PE14 is bead blasted; the Griptilian is not.

I received the SOG Pentagon II a few years ago as a gift from a friend. I've never used it, not once. Its just too damn big. I know the elite is a little smaller. It seems like a well made knife, but I never carry it. Meanwhile my BM 551 Grip goes with me everywhere.

Griptillian, simply the best work knife on the market. And ive got alot of knives to chose from.

I have several Griptilians and one Pentagon Elite (the 5" version) and if you want a daily carry working knife I would choose the Grip. I like the PE, but I don't carry mine either. Also, I think the Grip is easier to carry; even if they had been the same size. Also a more comfortable grip, hence the name.

Get the SOG... if you don't want to trust everyone on this thread so far. Seriously, of the 2, get the Griptilian. I would personally get a Waved Endura over both of these (as much as I love my Griptilian).

yeh i just picked up an elite for my collection and its got a heck of a lock. But its to massive and just way to flimsy, overpriced. blah blah etc
GET A GRIP, MAN

Griptilian, again. (Already posted in this thread a while back)

I think the 154CM on the stock version is clearly
better than the PE's AUS 8.

Somewhat more comparable, in my view, to the Grip is the
SOG X RAY 71.

The SOG 71 uses ATS-34 steel which is extremely similar to 154CM. I'd
probably still go with the Grip, though, because I feel more
comfortable with the Axis Lock than the Arc Lock, and also because
of the flaky blade shape of the 71.
