Benchmade griptilian question

Is it possible to replace the handle on the 556 like Mike did at home? Does it change over easily? Thanks.
 
Ok here is a link to another place you can buy a conversion kit for the 550 series. They have pale green (g-11), orange (G-10), and black (G-10).

It looks like you can get some micarta and wood laminates also.
As well as some aluminum grips.

I was sort of disappointed when I got my grip - it felt light and cheap, and it needed sanding down so it wouldn't tear up my hands and pants.

After taking it apart a few times and using it for a while my opinion has changed somewhat. If you can bend or break those handles, you're doing something wrong. :thumbup: They're not very pretty, though.

Slimman beat me to the link, I got the G-10 set from Moore Cutlery. Gary was great to deal with and they fit great. I don't think there was a drop down option for what color, but there's a spot for comments when you order, or do like I did and use the contact link to shoot him an e-mail. They also had some in aluminum and laminate.

The hardest part was lining up the pivot hole and washers on the blade when re-installing the pivot pin. You have to pull the axis lock back while lining everything up. You can send your knife in and they will install it for you as well.

Hoo boy! That black/orange combo is slick! Those handle replacements are pretty pricey. Can't argue with the results though. I may have to start saving up. I would love those for my full-size Ritter Grip!!
