See if you can locate one of the dicontinued 730/732 series. 154CM, some limited editions in D2, and (rare) M2 for your blade steel. G10 for the handle material.

Otherwise, that 930 looks cool.

pokeman, all the Griptilians have good blade steel. You may not have been sharpening it properly. If you get a good sharp edge, but don't clean off the burr, it will fold over on you after just a little use, and feel like a dull edge. Steeling will straighten that and restore the sharpness, but it won't last. You have to remove the burr.

525 if you liked the size of the Mini----520 if you want bigger

I second that if it has to be something new.

But, after all points, why you love the Mini Grip and why you don´t, i say:

Safe money, keep it.

Exept considering the dulling blade, contact the warranty departement and talk about this. 440C is not that bader than say 154CM.

You find the handle material somehow as it wouldn´t be of good quality? Well, from my popint of view, i´ve seen other knives more or less expensive... Let´s say: I did not found so much of an alternative.

No, i find them good as they are considering, what i could get elsewhere.

Just because it has G10, it doesn´t mean, it is better.

Dont forget to check out the HK line of Benchmade Knives. They also feature the Axis Lock and some good steels. Were I to replace my TSEK with another Axis Lock folder, the 3.5" blade HK's would be my first choice.

I agree with Esav about your problem possibly being related to sharpening because that is a good knife with good steel. So I would look into that first. Maybe send the knife in for BM’s Lifesharp service and evaluate a new factory edge. It will only cost you shipping. What are you using to sharpen? Do you get better sharpening results on other knives?

However, if you really want an upgrade, the BM 707 Sequel is very similar to a mini-Grip 556 and has all the things you like about the mini Grip, but more premium handle material, so it also offers what you are looking for there. I handled a nice special edition 707 recently with a very premium steel, I think it was S30V, so you could get something like that as well. Definitely look into the 707 if you basically like the mini Griptilian, want an upgrade, and are not looking for something larger.

3. would like for it to have a somewhat heavier weight to make me feel like it was high quality.

Weight doesn´t has to be an indicator for quality. In some respect, it just the oposite.

Some ppl. praise the Grips, just because they have less, but what they have exactly there, where it is needed.
