Consider it from this perspective:

A very valid point. I have to think that Benchmades are not just an "accident waiting to happen." In fact, I think they are very well made knives at their price point, and I hope that the folks having spring issues are just experiencing an anomaly, the occasional "lemon" that seems to pop up and bite people almost no matter what you buy. A good example of this is, a few years ago, CZ pistols (which are known for toughness and general reliability) experience a high rate of broken trigger springs. I myself had this happen 3x--twice on one pistol--and had to resend to the factory. Fortunately they made it right. It turned out, the problem was a bad batch of springs went out that affected CZ pistols made during a certain model year, and this was the cause of the problem. You only rarely hear about broken CZ trigger springs these days; it's not an "epidemic" like it was at one point.

It would have been easy to swear off CZ pistols forever and conclude that they have no QC, that they stink, or whatever. However, the reality is they just go unlucky and a bad batch of springs slipped past them. I'm sure this kind of thing can happen with knife makers too, a bad batch of steel, or of springs, or of micarta, whatever, and they can have a few lemons go out the door. The key thing is, do they make it right? Also, you have to remember to look at the longer pattern of their products over a period of years. If they have a great track record in general, it's not fair to just throw all that out the window when they have a temporary issue with some components.

And as for the post count thing, really? You trying to turn this into a pissing contest or something? Grow up.

Pissing contest? Not sure what you are into, but not my thing. That saying makes little to no sense. Point being, just joins, one post knocking the thing. Grow up, right back atcha buddy.
