Benchmade is CLEANING HOUSE!

So if they don’t sell do they get cut up??

I don’t see why not. Just like the guns.

Seriously. I do love Benchmade. I’m sure they meant well and I bet they learned a valuable lesson from that PR issue. Sometimes we just need to stick with what we are good at and venture out too far from our expertise. That’s why actors need to act and stay out of politics.

I don’t think it was on there discontinuing list maybe certain configuration of it are. Example I think earth handle black serrated blade grips are discontinued. Could be wrong

Hoping for a mini 940 fingers crossed. Benchmade is purging its lineup of knives that don't sell well, or that will be receiving refreshes and updates at shot show most likely.

Benchmade must be freeing up some money so they can invest in cigar cutting research.

Or, as their Instagram post eluded, to "A new era begins" means that 20CV will FINALLY become a standard steel in Benchmade's lineup, and they are clearing out the S30V models.

Maybe I'm just being the needy girlfriend and reading between lines that aren't there...
I don't see CPM-20CCV becoming their standard steel. Too pricey for that. A nice change, though would be to ditch s30v for Elmax. I really like how it holds an edge almost as long as M390, but is easier to sharpen than M390, at least on my Microtech UTX-85. I've messed with a couple ZT knives made from Elmax that were sent to me for testing on a passaround, and the steel performed wonderfully - better than s30v.

I really hope BM releases a bali that is better than the 6x series or the 87. 6x are short, fat, and half a pound. 87 looks goofy as hell, texture is awkward, and the price is ridiculous. You guys could easily make a balisong with a proper length/weight ratio with the weehawk blade for a reasonable price.
I'm just waiting for a bali from somebody that will have a 3.5" blade in a great steel, well balanced handles, and not cost a fortune. The Bradley Mayhem is basically my ideal bali, but with no left sided clip option, it was a no-go for me. The BM53 was close to what I want, but just a hair too short. If I want a blade that short, I'll pony up for a discontinued BM32 (one of the few knives I regret selling).

They could just replace the $30 butterfly tax with better steel and it would even out pretty well.

3.5" is really small for a bali. There will probably never be a high quality production option.

I want a bali for EDC, not flipping. I'd be happy with Benchmade, Spyderco, heck, anyone who makes a quality knife to come out with one.
