I just acquired a Benchmade Balisong, and I would like to know what model, and it's value. It is 4 1/4 inches long closed. It appears to be all stainless steel, and the handle has 5 large holes on each side, with smaller ones in between. The pivots are all flush with the handle. Knife looks like new. Thanks for any info.

Just crap, just send it to me

My knives!

From what you have said if it has a weehawk blade it could be a BM45. It's nothing you can send it to me.

Actually if thats what is is you have a very nice bali.

It's 7.5" overall length, flush pins, the larger holes have to be countersunk; that means that it is a 10, 35, or 69. What blade shape is it??

All holes are flush with the handle. Overall length open is a little over 7 1/2 inches. Unsure of blade style.

B.man is on the right track! It is definately a 3" model.

Somebody help me out here...who is the cat with all the blade profiles on his website?

The blade will tell all buddy!

Best regards,

Yep. A BM 68 has a 3.5" utility blade, polished pins (flush with handles; "hidden"), 5 large, countersunk holes on each handle, and is 7.5" overall length.

Thanks for the info guys. The holes are not countersunk. They are flush with the handle. There are also two small holes between each large hole.

Opps... forgot about the hidden pins... sorry.

Ok guys, what looks like a Model 10 with hidden pins???

Alan

There is a scan of one, it is a BM 68S; the pins are polished and the larger holes are countersunk, the blade is a utility. The link is here:

Ok. Looks like the 68 pictured above. But it looks like the knife above has counter-sunk holes. Mine doesn't. I'll try to take a picture of it.

Hmmm, sounds wierd, a couple of things could have happened:

  • Someone took a BM 10 and polished the pins down
  • BM made a 68 but with BM 10 handles (non counter-sunk holes but polished pins)
    or
  • Something happened that I can not think of (WOW!! that's nothing new!!)
