I recently got very lucky and found a Benchmade 930 Kulgera in a river. The knife was obviously someones EDC as it shows a lot of wear on the blade and the clip. It is very dull and the inside parts are dirty and maybe even rusty. I would like to send it in for Benchmades Lifesharp service hoping to get it back razor sharp, with a new clip, cleaned and oiled, and the omega spring and whatever else needs it replaced on the inside. My question is (and I have already e-mailed this to Benchmade) will they do all that for me even though I was not the original purchaser of the knife? Since I have no warranty I would be happy to pay for these services. Also, how fast is there return time?

I imagine they'll take care of it. But even if they do charge you, it will probably be worth it. Turn-around is a week or less lately.

No reason they should know you didn't purchase it. If you hold a benchmade knife, you hold a benchmade lifetime warranty.

Unfortunately, I already told them I didn't purchase the knife. Does that make a difference?

will make no difference at all. like Matt said, "If you hold a benchmade knife, you hold a benchmade lifetime warranty." Congrats on the cool find. I once lost an old BM45 in the American River while being sily. I hope she was eventually found and made her way back to Oregon City for a makeover. She deserved it. I miss that blade... sigh.
