I love my stretch, Its big, lite, opens in a flash, locks up solid, when I grip the blade on the top and bottom serations with my thumb and forefinger, I have the working control of a much smaller knife. Yet when I move my fingers back fully on the handle, I have a big full bladed knife thats up to any task..go with the stretch..

940 is not my favorite knife, had it and traded it away. the handle is way too skinny for me. i love the axis lock, but the width of the handle and blade are just too small for me.
Vantage pro is a sweet knife for the price. also might check out the vantage afid or avid or whatever its called. really cant go wrong with any of the vantages.
the stretch is fantastic...i love the handle and blade shape.

Is the blade on the Stretch thicker thereby stronger than the blade on the 940?

All of the knives you are considering are more than strong enough to do any work that should be done with a folder. Stop torturing yourself over fine details that do not matter! Pick up each one, and buy the one that feels most at home in your hand. Then, enjoy the heck out of it and forget the others.
