Wonder how much better the standard 154cm is compared to the S30V. I always though 154cm was a grainy steel

I wouldn't say that 154CM is better than S30V, or the reverse, even. S30V is a harder steel so it will retain it's edge a lot better and it'll take a great edge as well, it just might take a while. That being said, 154CM just takes a wicked sharp edge so easily and is still is a great steel. If you were to compare the two I would put it up to preference, not necessarily 'just by the numbers' but technically S30V is the higher quality steel.

This is just my personal assessment based on working with both steels, not an expert opinion by any means.

Technically s30v is the superior steel. All I can say is that 154cm gets sharper but s30v keeps a decent edge longer. Overall I like s30v better but its not a big differance between the two imo.

s30v, according to crucible is tougher than 154cm as well.

To the OP, thank you for alerting us.

They are for sale under "discontinued Benchmade" at the KNIFE dealer where the whole crew WORKS hard to keep us happy and poor! ;)

Thanks guys!!
I don't know why it is frowned on, I always appreciate when I am pointed in the direction of a good deal or cool knife. Even if I don't buy one, I still like to take a peek:)

That is what email, visitor and private messages are for. ;)

1- I didn't get an email, pm pr other message about the existence of this knife.

2- I come to the forums to enjoy, relax and sometimes- learn or find something new.

3- It would not make sense for someone to just drop a email, visitor and private message about a knife, or anything.
If however, there was a post with something of interest, it is easy to just click the link and go there.

I know, I know, everyone has their opinion, some are the same, some are not, just saying, I like to find information on knives here:)

If the OP did not make the post because he is not allowed, against the rules, etc, how would he know to send me (or anyone) an email, visitor and private message about a knife I am most definitely interested in?
Ya gotta learn it exists from somewhere and if not from a knife forum, from where?
Maybe I am missing something???

I don't think there will be any change or expect one, just need to understand why someone can not post a nice knife they just bought and from where as others may want one also..., I know I do:)

1- People don't get automatic emails, not sure what you are refering to here.
2- As do many of us. But if someone is a paying sponsor (pays to contribute to the forums existence and success), it's not good for others to start dropping free adverts for non paying stores.
3-It would make sense if you were interested in something you could ask someone to send you a message about it. It's all covered in the rules that were written by the owner of the forums. Spark pays the bills so the least we can do is respect his place and follow the simple rules.

1- I was refering to your earlier post

2- Makes sense

3- pt1- If you did not know the knife was made or available, you could not ask about it

3- pt2- I agree, just wondered the reason, that's cool:)

Now- anyone know of any coupons?
Thanks!!
