Benchmade Mini Griptilian Scales

I love my Ritter mini grip but don't love the stock scales. Some beautiful custom scales but they are all real expensive!!

Here's my two Mini Grips in Wilkins' scales.

The Ritter in anodized aluminum and the 555 in G10.

I actually saw a pic of your blades someplace else on this forum (at least I think they were yours) and it was partially my inspiration for going with the Wilkins scales. My 555 has the steel colored blade but the scales I am waiting on look to be the same as your G10's. Made another impulse buy last night and ordered a Spyderco PM2, all black with the S30V steel...it's a pre-order so who knows when I will get it, but it's nice knowing that it's out there somewhere waiting for it's new home

I honestly don't understand the snobbery over the factory Valox scales. I've got mini Grips and and a 530 and I've got other Benchmades with G10 and aluminum scales. The more expensive materials may look cooler (especially the black and grey G10 on my Rift) but the Valox feels great to me.

I dont hate the stock scales, though for me G10 grips much better, looks much better, and in the end brings a knife from just cool, to PIZZAZ! But Other materials are nice too, I just cant get into the plastic, makes these really top notch knives seem cheap.

I don't get it either. I'm holding a Spyderco Dragonfly in one hand (the one with great, indestructible handles) and a mini-grip in the other (the one with cheap, flimsy handles) and I really can't tell the difference.

I'll throw this out there since I don't think anyone else has. Cuscadi makes some damn fine scales. Materials ranging from Carbon Fiber, to G10, wood, CTek, etc. It's always been a pleasure working with Luke (Cuscadi) and I HIGHLY recommend him.
